- The St. Louis Battlehawks entered this season as one of the prohibitive favorites to win the UFL title. But they’ve simply not been impressive the last two weeks. They suffered a 30-15 trouncing at the hands of the Arlington Renegades last week, a week after suffering a 27-15 loss to the DC Defenders.
Quarterback Manny Wilkins has started all four games this season, but his performance has been lackluster to the point that backup Max Duggan has appeared in three of those games. Wilkins ranks seventh in passing yards in a league with just eight teams, and he’s only thrown one touchdown this season to three interceptions.
The Michigan Panthers, on the other hand, are 3-1 this season with their lone loss coming to a championship-contending Birmingham Stallions team in Week 2. They’re coming off one of the most impressive performances by any team this season, a 27-9 win over the Memphis Showboats, in which they outscored Memphis 13-0 in the second half. Panthers quarterback Bryce Perkins ranks third in the league in both passing yards (688) and touchdowns (4), while linebacker Frank Ginda leads the league in tackles on the other side of the ball.
Not to mention, Michigan also has the league leader in kick return yardage in Devin Ross. This is a team that excels in all three phases, and it'll win a third straight game tonight.
