Even though Coco Gauff is not herself at the moment, losing matches that she'd normally win, I simply just don't see her losing this match on Saturday in her second here in Madrid. She came back in the Rof64 against Yastremska and looked much better down the stretch. She'll remember that she's a top five player here today. I expect her to cruise through this match as it should be a lot easier to control the tempo against a less powerful player.
That player is Ann Li. All matchups are different and this is not a good matchup for Li who has lost both times against Gauff and both times significantly. As a matter of fact, both of those matches were straight set wins for Gauff. Look for the same thing to take place on Saturday in Madrid.
