Analysis: I love the Detroit Tigers tonight, as I'm going to challenge the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers to beat me with Blake Snell on the hill. I think we have a pitching mismatch, and the books aren't taking Skubal enough into consideration with this game. Skubal is 8-4 with a 3.12 ERA in 21 Interleague appearances, while limiting National League teams to a .204 batting average and .322 slugging percentage. He's faced the Dodgers one time, last season, and came away with no decision and 3.00 ERA while allowing just two runs on two hits in six innings of work. Snell, meanwhile, is 0-2 with a 6.06 ERA in three career starts against the Tigers, after being tagged for 11 runs - all earned - on 16 hits over 16.1 innings of labor. He's allowed Detroit to hit .258 and slug .452 against him in those three outings. I don't think the Tigers are the better team, but tonight they'll have the better pitcher on the mound.
