We like the New York Mets to defeat the Houston Astros on Thursday at 4:10pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:
New York will start Clay Holmes today. He was a relief pitcher for NYY last season but has looked really good as a starter is spring.
Holmes fanned eight and gave up just two hits in five and a third of an inning in his last Spring Training start.
New York also added Juan Soto to its team. The Mets should be very excited for this year.
Houston lost Bregman and Tucker to what was already a team that didn't perform to its normal level.
The Astros added Walker and Paredes. But, those guys aren't as good as the two they lost.
Houston got off to a horrendous start last season. It could be in for similar times this year.
We're on the Mets in the opener.
