- Analysis
- If you want to take the under in a matchup of the runaway MVP favorites playing quarterback on each side, be my guest. I’m going to save myself the trouble, the sweating and the general feeling of helplessness while I watch the second and third-highest-scoring offenses in the NFL torch one other in the snow.
I don’t care about the weather, Josh Allen is half Eskimo at this point anyway after seven or so seasons in Buffalo and he has proven that he is fully capable even in the snow. Lamar Jackson hasn’t quite proved that he has that skill to the degree Allen has it, but he has been superhuman enough across the last few seasons that I feel more than comfortable trusting him to figure it out on Sunday.
When I mention that these are the second and third-best scoring offenses in the NFL, that may be underselling the point just a little bit. The Ravens and the Bills are nearly identical in terms of scoring output, as the Bills average 30.9 points per game and the Ravens average 30.5 points per game. Both teams also give up just over 21 points per game on offense, though I’m confident that each side will go over that total tonight and probably rather comfortably.
I’m legitimately expecting this one to be a back-and-forth shooting ending something to the tune of 35-32 by one of the two teams. I’m a bit more confident in this game going over than I am in picking an individual side, as I think both quarterbacks will be looking for style points as they look to show America who really deserves the MVP award this season.
