Yesterday’s Results for Indiana vs Notre Dame

Analysis: They say styles make fights. Unfortunately for Indiana, they may have gotten the worst possible matchup for their preferred style of play as Notre Dame does everything pretty much the same way but just a little bit better and a little bit more dynamic. Both teams have high-powered offenses centered around a star quarterback. Kurtis Rourke earned himself some recognition in the Heisman vote with his performance for the Hoosiers this season. Still, he is slightly less mobile than Leonard while being a more consistent and more accurate passer. What Leonard does have to make up for his shortcomings in accuracy and the passing game at large is a plethora of weapons throughout the offensive depth chart that makes his job very, very easy. Add in the fact that Leonard has a Josh Allen-esque ability to make things happen on the run, and you get a Notre Dame offense that has been among the most potent in the country this season. Notre Dame has scored more than 49 points in five of its last six games and more than 50 points in two of those games. Indiana does lead the country in scoring overall, but it was held to less than 20 points twice in November when they faced Michigan and Ohio State. They managed to beat Michigan, but the Ohio State game was a telling 23-point loss. Notre Dame is pretty close to Ohio State’s level on both sides of the ball, so I expect this score to look similar to that one. This number has dipped because of public money. Lay the price.
