Yesterday’s Results for New York Mets vs Milwaukee Brewers

Analysis: Hard to look past what Jose Quintana has done for the New York Mets, especially down the stretch. I don't think the Milwaukee Brewers will be able to match either the Mets' offense or Quintana's hot arm. Over his last six starts, Quintana is 4-1 with a 0.74 ERA while he's held the opposition to a .197 batting average. He's limited the damage when it comes to the long ball, too, allowing no home runs in the six games and just four over his last 11 starts. Since June 15, he's 9-5 with a 2.77 ERA with teams hitting only .209 against him. During his career, he may only be 9-7 in 23 appearances against the Brewers, but he has a 2.98 ERA against them. And there's something to be said about revenge tonight, as he's 0-2 with a 4.00 ERA in his two starts against Milwaukee this season. I'd much rather back the Mets' veteran than Milwaukee's young rookie Tobias Myers, who has a 3.45 ERA over his last nine starts, during which the Brewers are 5-4. Even further back, since June 29 and spanning 16 appearances, the team is 8-8 and he is 4-4 with a 2.93 ERA. But teams are hitting .255 and slugging .391 against him in that span, and he's facing a dangerous Mets lineup that ranked seventh in the league with a .254 road batting average. They also scored a league ninth-best 386 runs away from Queens. Take the Mets here, as they move on in the National League playoffs.
