Analysis: The upcoming Game 3 of the NL Wild Card series between the Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets on Thursday, October 3, 2024, is a winner-takes-all scenario. It looked bleak for Milwaukee heading into the late innings of game two, trailing 2-3. But a 8th inning rally saved the Brewers and extended the series to a deciding game three in Milwaukee here on Thursday. Milwaukee will start Tobias Myers (9-6, 3.00 ERA), while New York will counter with veteran Jose Quintana (10-10, 3.75 ERA). Myers just faced the Mets on Sept 28 and went four innings and allowed just one hit and no runs. The Brewers have also won four of his last five starts. The Brewers have home-field advantage at American Family Field and boast a stronger pitching staff with a 3.65 ERA. I also am suspect of the Mets bullpen which had game two and the series but couldn't hold on for the win. The Brewers have the better bullpen, momentum and new life. I'll take the Brewers here in game three.
