Season Record

Wizards: 10-3 (Eastern Conference)
Heat: 9-5 (Eastern Conference)

The Wizards accidentally did everything right.  Longtime cellar dwellers made good on a few offseason moves two seasons in a row… that’s a rare thing.  From the Los Angeles Lakers they picked up Montrezl Harrel and Kyle Kuzma… and like everyone who has left the Lakers since LeBron got there… They are playing great!  Not only that, but the absence of Russell Westbrook has given a freedom to Bradley Beal that seems to be invigorating.  Could they be a bad team on an early season roll?... no.  The Entertainment Purposes are over… The Wizards are a contender that can register real basketball wins.

The Heat were in the Finals in the bubble.  Everyone waited to see if that meant they were a great team…. The only available answer is... maybe?  Recent games have seen the Heat go on a two-game winning streak, but before that it was rough sledding with losses to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Denver Nuggets.  Handicapping this game is easier knowing a few Heat players may miss or play limited minutes.

Offensive Analysis

The Washington Wizards are tied for 2nd in the league in offensive production.  They have an offensive rating of 107.5 and a defensive rating of 102.7… both top ten in the entire NBA.  October is behind us, September is gone… the stats are for real now.

The Heat are tied for sixth in offensive rating with a score of 111.0 and a defensive rating of 103.7.  They are a really good team that has recently tasted the NBA Finals.  The preseason media poll had them as a bad defensive team that would struggle in road games… at the moment they are winning contests with an extraordinary bench.

Washington Wizards vs Miami Heat Prediction

Our prediction for Thursday, November 18th is…  Wizards 118 - Heat 99

The Heat may be missing large chunks of their lineup to nagging injuries.  They will still have their shooting experts… and it’s great to have scorers.  Yet they may not get any rebounds.  Thursday Night is not the same as last season.  The Wizards are for real, get used to it.

Wizards: Wes Unseld Jr.  Coach Unseld is brand new in Washington and he is killing the game!  Get it coach… Take these disparate pieces and make a formidable team! There is no statute in Wes’s jurisdiction… the Wizards don’t have to be bad.
