Utah State vs USC Prediction

The current betting odds have USC listed as a 28 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. USC looked really good in their season opener at a neutral site, beating LSU from the SEC. Their offense moved the ball well but their defense showed some big improvements, only giving up 20 points to a really good LSU offense. Meanwhile, Utah State also won their season opener, but they were at home against a team from FCS. Their offense put up 36 points, but their defense gave up 14 and that is going to be a big issue here. USC didn't go off on LSU's new defense but they are going to have the momentum from that win in this home opener and will be looking to leave Utah State in the dust on the scoreboard. Utah State won't stop this high octane USC offense, but their offense won't be able to keep up either. Petras is the starter for Utah State but he was terrible when he was at Iowa, leading one of the worst offenses in the country. Their backup who also got playing time in their 1st game is Barnes and he was the starter for Utah last season in place of injured Cam Rising, but Utah had one of the worst offenses in the Pac-12 and relied a lot on their defense to win games. Utah State won't get much done against this new-look USC defense and their defense won't stop this offense either. The best way to place a bet here is on USC to cover the spread in this game.

Utah State USC Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Saturday, September 7, 2024 (11:00 pm ET start time) is USC 49 Utah State 10.
