Texas vs Arizona State Prediction

The current betting odds have Texas listed as a 12.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas has looked really good in their games this season with their 12-2 record overall and their 7-1 conference record which has them right at the top of the SEC. They had the best record in the SEC this year with it being their first season in the conference, but they still lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship. Georgia was both of their losses this year, but they looked really good against Clemson in the first round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Arizona State has looked really good in their games this season with their 11-2 record overall and their 7-2 conference record which has them right near the top of the Big 12. They went to the Big 12 Championship and crushed Iowa State in it 45-19, but they still don't have the talent that Texas has on their team. Arizona State has been really hot to end the regular season, but they did have a bye in the first round of the playoffs and haven't had an opportunity to play a team like this. The long time off could lead to a slower start here, and they can't afford to have a slow start against a team like Texas. They really haven't faced a defense like this one in the Big 12 and Texas has shown in many games this year that they can put up a ton of points when they need to. Arizona State may have had a first round bye, but this game will be more like the games in the first round. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas to cover the spread in this game.

Texas Arizona State Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (1:00 pm ET start time) is Texas 42 Arizona State 17.

Notable Quotes

“We were definitely sharing words back and forth, that was fun. He’s a great guy, he had a great game.” - Michael Taaffe after their win against Clemson in their last game.

“Last year, they left a team out because of a quarterback (then-undefeated Florida State). We’re 11-1 with our starting quarterback, having beat four ranked teams and we won the Big 12 championship. We made a standard that the quarterback is that valuable. I definitely think we should host a game.” - Kenny Dillingham after his team’s win against ISU in the Big 12 Championship.
