They only beat Western Carolina 38-21 and even though their offense was rolling in that one, their defense was a disappointment. They shouldn't be giving up 21 points at home to a team from the FCS if they want to be considered a threat in the ACC this season. They acquired Grayson McCall from Coastal Carolina to improve this offense this season and he looked good in that game, but the defense is going to hold them back this season. Tennessee may be on the road here but they have a high flying offense with a head coach that loves to put up points. Tennessee is going to be able to score at will in this game and eventually they will pull away with no way back in it for NC State as they get exposed. NC State has the offense to put up points since Tennessee hasn't been known for their great defense, but they still won't be able to keep up with this Tennessee offense that is looking to prove themselves as a threat in a tough SEC. The best way to place a bet here is on Tennessee to cover the spread in this game.
