49ers vs Eagles Prediction

The San Francisco 49ers are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in week 2 of the NFL regular season on Sunday. The 49ers are 1-0 to start the season after a very impressive showing in week 1. The Eagles are also 1-0 to start the season after pulling off a big upset in week 1. The 49ers are a 3.5 point favorite in this game with the point total set at 50 points.

The SF Niners are coming into this matchup after a big win against the Detroit Lions by a final score of 41-33. They had a massive lead in that game before they let the Lions start to come back. Jimmy Garoppolo played a solid game completing 17/25 passes for 314 yards, 1 touchdown and no turnovers. Trey Lance even completed 1/1 passes for 5 yards and 1 touchdown. Eli Mitchell had a great game in the run game rushing for 104 yards and 1 TD on 19 carries. JaMycal Hasty also found the end zone on the ground with a 3-yard run. Raheem Mostert had to leave the game early with a season ending injury. Deebo Samuel had a massive game with 189 receiving yards and 1 touchdown on 9 receptions. Tight end George Kittle also had 78 receiving yards on 4 catches. Fred Warner led this defense with 8 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Nick Bosa, Kentavius Street, and Dee Ford all recorded 1 sack each in the game while Dre Greenlaw caught the only interception for the team. The 49ers put up 41 points in that game while they allowed their opponents to score 33 against them. The 49ers were favored in that game by a lot as the line closed at -9.5 with them failing to cover that spread.

The Phi Eagles are coming into this game after a big 32-6 win on the road against the Atlanta Falcons in their previous game. Jalen Hurts had a good game completing 27/35 passes for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns. Miles Sanders led the team in rushing with 74 yards on 15 carries. Hurts also ran for 62 yards himself in the game. DeVonta Smith led the receiving corps with 71 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 receptions. Avonte Maddox led the defense with 5 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Javon Hargrave recorded 2 sacks in that game while Hassan Ridgeway also had 1. They scored 32 points in that game while allowing their opponents to score 6 points against them. They came into the game as a 3 point underdog and came out as the winners on the moneyline by almost 30 points.

The 49ers are dealing with some injuries in this game but are still a much better team than the Eagles and possess more depth on their roster. The Eagles played great in their last game but they were going against the Falcons who could be in for another rough year. The total is pretty low in this game and it is very likely that both teams score a lot of points as both have a pretty good offense. The bets should be on the over as this game will end up going over the total.

Players to Watch

San Francisco 49ers: Deebo Samuel is one player to watch in this game. He had a massive game in his last one, almost collecting 200 receiving yards in that game. He will want to continue that great play so look for him to make some big catches in this one.

Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts is one player to watch in this game. He will be taking the place of Carson Wentz from last season as Wentz was traded in the offseason. He looked really good in the last game as he led his team to a big upset victory on the road. Watch for him to make the big plays in this one to give his team a chance here at home.
