49ers vs Rams Prediction

The current betting odds have the 49ers listed as a 7 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The 49ers have a 1-1 record overall this season and they looked great in their season opener, but didn't look great last week. They won their season opener at home against the Jets, winning that game convincingly, but they lost their 1st road game of the season last week in Minnesota. They are on the road again here but playing on the road against the Rams has been more of a home game for the 49ers over the last few seasons. They will also be looking to bounce back from their loss and have still been really efficient on the ground, even without their star running back. Meanwhile, the Rams have looked terrible in their games this season with their 0-2 record overall. They lost their season opener on the road against the Lions in a really close game that went to OT, but they looked a lot worse on the road last week in their 41-10 loss to the Cardinals. That was the first loss ever for McVay in Arizona and even though this is their home opener, the Rams are dealing with a lot of injuries right now that have been hindering them. The 49ers didn't look great last week but Minnesota was a place they struggled in last season and they will be looking to bounce back here against a banged up team that they know well. The best way to place a bet here is on the 49ers to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"We never ask Brock to really do too much. We ask him to do the play that's called. If nothing's there, what are your options after that? You scramble, you throw things away. Sometimes you take a sack. Things you always try to do is not turn it over, but nothing really changes when you're missing guys. Game plan can sometimes change, but not what you ask the quarterback to do." - Kyle Shanahan on Brock Purdy after his team’s loss against the Vikings in their last game.

“There's not anything positive I can take from today. Anytime something like this occurs you've got to look inward first and foremost. Didn't do nearly a good enough job. There are so many things we have to go back and look at. It was an incredibly humbling three-hour window.” - Sean McVay after his team’s loss against the Cardinals in their last game.
