An NBA Playoff matchup first round series… that has reached Game 3. The result at the moment is Philadelphia up 2-0… They have had 2 blow-out wins and of course 2 wins ATS. It was predictable. Philadelphia has a great Center in Joel Embiid… they have the most likely MVP in Joel Embiid and Toronto has no Center anywhere on the roster. Toronto goes with 3 undersized PF’s rotating at Center. It doesn’t take Joel Embiid having huge games to beat Toronto because of all the attention that Embiid needs. What it has taken is Tyrese Maxey and James Harden for Philly.. Simply exploiting all that distracted defense. The aSixers have also gotten ready for their other problem… SF Matisse Thybulle won’t be able to join the team in Toronto… because he is not vaccinated. So… the Sixers have simply not played him more than a few minutes in either of the first two games… Translation… they won’t miss him in Toronto because he already doesn’t play. If there was ever a case for a guy Philly could trade immediately, it is Matisse Thybulle. The team does not care or even notice if he plays… and he is a good defender. The Toronto Raptors have taken a beating. SF Scottie Barnes got injured in Game 1 when Joel Embiid accidentally stepped on his foot. The result was a sprain… the overall result was the best young player off of a great young team is no longer available. If the Raptors know what is good for them… They simply will not risk any injury to their future Jordan. Scottie will soon be the best player on their team… not worth the risk already down 0-2.
The Philadelphia 76ers have won the first two games over the series. They went 2-0 ATS. The spread is still desperately small… take the free money. The Sixers got 31 points from Joel Embiid, 20 points from Tobias Harris, and 23 points from Tyrese Maxey! The strange small games keep coming from James Harden… but if they didn’t need it… and still won… it doesn’t matter. What we know about James Harden is he is capable of dropping assist and even the best looking hockey assist. What we do know is that the Raptors are worried about Harden… and the money they stop worrying about Harden he will get 40! Bet on the Sixers to win and cover.
The Toronto Raptors put up a good fight if you look back to the regular season… but the flaws are still glaring. This Raptors roster desperately needs a Center… or two Centers. They are 0-2 on the series and 0-2 ATS. Because the series moved back to Toronto the point spread is SMALLER! This is free money as the Sixers are going to keep shellacking the Raptors.
