Vikings vs Giants Prediction

The current betting odds have the Vikings listed as a 1.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Vikings finished last season with a 7-10 record overall and missed the playoffs. Now they have a different team this season with Kirk Cousins leaving for Atlanta. They drafted JJ McCarthy to be their future starter, but he is dealing with an injury so Sam Darnold will be getting another chance to start in Minnesota. Darnold has had a rough time in the NFL and has bounced around from team-to-team the last few years, but now he is getting a chance to start in Minnesota with McCarthy out and he will be looking to make the most of his opportunity. They still have lots of talented receivers for him to throw to, and they also picked up Aaron Jones to give their team a solid presence on the ground. Meanwhile, the Giants were terrible last season with their 6-11 record overall and it has been a bit of a disaster since Daboll's 1st season coaching the team. They lost Saquon Barkley in the off-season too and he was pretty much their whole offense. They replaced him with Devin Singletary, but that is definitely a downgrade. They drafted Malik Nabers who had a great college career, but they still lack talent in their receiving corps and it doesn't help that Daniel Jones is still the starting QB trying to get the ball to them. Jones has been a disaster as a starting QB in New York and he has had plenty of opportunities to prove himself as a starter. He just isn't going to be the answer for this team so it is hard to back them until they choose to move on. The Vikings have some new faces this season, but they still have the more experienced players in their offense and a QB who is looking to prove he can be a starter in this league. The best way to place a bet here is on the Vikings to cover the spread in this game.
