Louisiana Tech vs Army Prediction

The current betting odds have Army listed as a 14 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Army has looked really good in their games this season with their 11-2 record overall and their 8-1 conference record which has them right at the top of the AAC. They went to the AAC Championship in their first season of being in the conference and they beat Tulane to win the conference, but they are coming off a loss to Navy in their last one and that was the game that really meant the most to them. They lost the Commander-in-Chief trophy to Navy, but they still had a really good season with their conference championship so they will be looking to bounce back here and end the season on a good note. Meanwhile, Louisiana Tech hasn't looked good in their games this season with their 5-7 record overall and their 4-4 conference record which has them right in the middle of the C-USA. They weren't even bowl eligible with their record so they don't really deserve to be in this game, but the Sun Belt Champions Marshall opted out so LA Tech gets to take their place. This game is at a neutral site, but it happens to be the home stadium for LA Tech so they have a bit of an advantage there, but they also played in the weakest conference so they haven't been tested by many good teams this year. Army has a difficult offense to defend and they have been putting up a ton of points in their games all season. LA Tech has also been giving up a ton of points on defense against the stronger teams they have had to face so Army will put up points here and LA Tech won't be able to keep up as Army pulls away. The best way to place a bet here is on Army to cover the spread in this game.

Louisiana Tech Army Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Saturday, December 28, 2024 (9:15 pm ET start time) is Army 38 LA Tech 17.

Notable Quotes

“It’s been a phenomenal experience for our players. I think it’s very unconventional a little bit in terms of how it worked out for us and our football team. But I will say this. In terms of the bowl system, in terms of the bowl games, and the meaningful impact they have on student-athletes, I wish you could’ve heard the excitement and the joy in particular of the 16 seniors that we have who chose to come back and play in this game when given the opportunity to play in one more football game together. They were ecstatic.” - Sonny Cumbie on his team playing in the Independence Bowl.

“We’ve been treated like kings here this week. It’s been fantastic. We just appreciate the opportunity to represent West Point, the Corps of Cadets, the Long Gray Line of graduates and the over one million men and women that serve in the United States Army. It’s just a privilege to be here and play a great team like Louisiana Tech. They’re playing at home and I’m sure they’ll have a great crowd and be motivated to play just as our team is.” - Jeff Monken on his team playing in the Independence Bowl.
