Kansas State vs Tulane Prediction

The current betting odds have Tulane listed as a 9.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Tulane won their season opener against a team from the FCS, but they looked great in that home game with a 52-0 win. Meanwhile, Kansas State also won their season opener 41-6 at home against a team from the FCS too. Now Kansas State will have their 1st game on the road here, but Tulane still has a really good team this season, even with all of the changes. Their new starting QB Mensah looked really good in their season opener as he was really efficient with his passing. They also have a new head coach this season, Jon Sumrall, but he is no stranger to success with the seasons he put up at Troy year after year. Kansas State had a solid team last season, but they weren't a massive threat in the Big 12, and now their starting QB has moved on to better things. They still have their head coach who has done a great job there, but their new starting QB wasn't as efficient in their 1st game as he was less accurate and also had an interception. This is going to be a really tough environment for Kansas State to play in with the home advantage that Tulane has, and Tulane still has that great defense that is going to cause fits for this K-State offense and their new starting QB. Kansas State may win this game on the road, but Tulane has the defense to keep it a closer game if they don't pull off the outright upset. The best way to place a bet here is on Tulane to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“Defense, I thought, was really good all night. Gave up one play that they probably want back. ... You're going to make a lot of mistakes in the first game and we've got to clean those things up because we've got to put this one behind us quickly. We got a tough road game next week.” - Chris Klieman after his team’s win against UT Martin in their last game.

“I wanted to give Darian a full run of it because it was his first college in-game experience. I thought he played well, I thought he played efficiently and I thought he protected the football – it was good to see. He’s got a little confidence [and] I feel like I’m a better coach when I’m around him.” - Jon Sumrall after his team’s win against SELA in their last game.
