Charlotte 49ers:  won on the road on Oct. 8 against the Florida International Panthers 45-33.

This will be their 3rd conference matchup of the year and they are currently 1-1 in their conference games this season. Their 1 win came against the FIU Panthers while their loss came against UAB in their last game. They have now lost 2 of their last 3 games coming into this one. N'Kosi Perry did not play well at all in their last game as he completed 16/25 passes for 193 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. Perry also led the team in rushing with 22 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 carries while Johnny Ford had just 20 yards rushing on 7 carries. They did not get anything going on the ground for them in that game. LaJohntay Wester led the receivers with 67 yards and 1 touchdown on 5 receptions while Larry McCammon III had 43 receiving yards on 2 receptions in what was a quiet day for the receiving corps. Zyon Gilbert led the defense with 5 solo tackles, 1 assisted one and 1 sack in that game. Akileis Leroy also had a good game with 5 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones while Teja Young was right behind with 5 solo tackles. Gilbert had the only sack in the game for the defense and no one was able to come up with an interception in that one. They won those games against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and against FIU in their last game. They have won 2 of their last 3 games coming into this one and are coming off of a win against FIU where they led from the start and were in control the whole time. Chris Reynolds played great in that game as he completed 21/27 passes for 203 yards and 4 TDs. Shadrick Byrd led the team in rushing with 80 yards on 14 carries while Calvin Camp had 66 yards and 1 touchdown on 12 carries. Victor Tucker led the receivers with 92 yards and 1 touchdown on 8 receptions while Grant DuBose had 5 catches for 73 receiving yards. Justin Whisenhunt led the defense with 6 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones while Tyler Murray had 4 solo tackles and 1 assisted one. Markees Watts led the defense in sacks in that game with 2 While Whisenhunt, Tyson Clawson, and Miguel Jackson all had 1 sack each as well. Jonathan Alexander came away with the only interception for them in that one. They have scored 179 in their first 6 games averaging 29.8 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 154 points against them allowing 25.7 PPG. Their offense is averaging 406.8 YPG while their defense is allowing 447.7 YPG. 

 

The total is set at 54.5 points with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. FAU has a decent defense this year as they have not been allowing a lot of points or yards against them this season. Charlotte has been allowing a lot of yards this year, they have not allowed a whole lot of points but they are allowing more than they are scoring per game on average. FAU will likely keep Charlotte's offense here at bay with their good defense. That does not mean that FAU is going to run away with this game though. FAU is winless on the road this year while Charlotte is undefeated at home so they are not going to go down without a fight. This is a game where both offenses will likely struggle to score points in this game so the best bet to place here is on the under.

He is coming off of a game where he was the only one who really produced results for this offense in a game where they did not play very well. He is very consistent so look for him to get a lot of looks in this game and try to spark his offense with some big catches down the field.

 

Charlotte 49ers: Grant Dubose is one player to watch here. He leads his team in receiving yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He did not lead his team in receiving yards in their last game but he still had over 70 yards in that game. Look for him to continue his good play into this game and help his team try to get the win here.
