Broncos vs Seahawks Prediction

The current betting odds have the Broncos listed as a 6 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Broncos finished last season with an 8-9 record overall and missed the playoffs. They were supposed to turn things around in Sean Payton's 1st season as head coach but were unable to do so. As bad as they were last season, they did have one of the worst starts in the NFL and ended up looking a lot better near the end of the season, improving quite a bit. Now they have gotten rid of Russell Wilson and they have drafted Bo Nix to be the starting QB this season. Bo Nix was great at Oregon last season and he will be looking to translate that success to the NFL level. Sean Payton is also going to have a lot to prove himself in his 2nd season, and he doesn't have Wilson to shift the blame to now. Meanwhile, the Seahawks finished last season with a 9-8 record overall and failed to make the playoffs too, now they are entering a new era with Pete Carroll no longer coaching the team. Mike Macdonald will be looking to improve this team from last season, but a lot of that starts with Geno Smith who took a big step back last season. Seattle is a really tough place to play and they still have lots of weapons to do some damage, but Bo Nix played last season in that part of the country and he is used to loud stadiums. The Seahawks didn't have a great defense last season either and they usually struggle on defense in the first half of the season. The Broncos are going to have their opportunities to score here, but neither team is going to go off offensively which leaves the cover possible for this Broncos team as they can make it a close and competitive game. The best way to place a bet here is on the Broncos to cover the spread in this game.

Broncos Seahawks Prediction:  Our NFL Pick for Sunday, September 8, 2024 (4:05 pm ET start time) is Seahawks 20 Broncos 17.

Notable Quotes

“It’s going to be loud. I would imagine there will be some similarities to when Oregon goes to Washington and they’re playing in front of however many thousand people. That’s another loud stadium an hour down the road. So we’ll deal with the crowd noise this week. This won’t be the first game we play where it’s loud.” - Sean Payton on his team’s season opener against the Seahawks this week.

"We have a pretty good feel for how we're going to line up next week at this point, just kind of keep it under wraps and let (the Broncos) figure it out the first snap of the game." - Mike Macdonald on his team’s starting offensive line for their season opener against the Broncos this week.
