NBA Standings

BULLS: 46-36, 6th place Eastern Conference
BUCKS: 51-31, 3rd place Eastern Conference

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first round playoff series between the #3 Seed and the #6 Seed.  Game 1 had the 100% expected outcome.  The Bucks beat the Bulls.  The score was a little crazy 93-86.  It is like neither team could get a comfortable flow on offense… but the truth is:  Neither team could.   The Bucks won AND won ATS.  If NBA fans are expecting the Chicago Bulls to go from perennial cellar-dweller to formidable Playoff team just because they added a few guys is delusional.   The Bucks are last year’s Champions.. The Bucks have Giannis Antetokounmpo.  The Bucks are going to win this series.  The Bulls put up a great season… all they had to do was add SF DeMar DeRozan… and watch DeMar put up a potential MVP season… that is all.  The Bulls had great improvement this season… but not the type of improvement that could overcome missing so many players to so many games because of injury.  The good news in Chicago is that the team is here to stay and they are good now.  So health and a few additions… will mean better results next season.

The Chicago Bulls lost Game 1 to the Milwaukee Bucks.  They also lost ATS. The Bulls do not have enough on the roster to match up with the Bucks… But the Bulls have plenty for years to come.  The Bulls got 24 points out of Nikola Vucevic, 18 points out of DeMar DeRozan, and 18 from Zach LaVine.  It was not enough and they simply did not get enough out of EVERYONE ELSE.  This offseason a decision is looming… is Patrick Williams the future at Forward?  Or should the Bulls keep looking?  SF Patrick Williams missed the entire season until the last couple of games before the playoffs… and now he is putting in 5 points and 3 rebounds in 23 minutes of play… not very good.  The Bulls were hoping to see PG Lonzo Ball back for the Playoff, but that is seeming less and less likely. Lonzo is still rehabbing knee surgery and will not return until next season... no matter what happens in these playoffs.

The Milwaukee Bucks won Game 1 against the Chicago Bulls.  That is the most likely outcome over every game.  The Bucks won ATS, which moved the line UP to a 10 point spread.  The Bucks got exactly what they need from Giannis Antetokounmpo 27 pts, 16 rbs, 3 asts.  It is one of many several playoff performances form Giannis… it has gotten so clockwork that Giannis gets big games that these stats were not shouted from the rooftop at ESPN headquarters let alone part of the Sportscenter top ten.  Sf Krhis Middleton was once again an invisible man in a Bucks game as he shot 1 for 7 from 3-point distance… thankfully they had Lopez, Holiday, and Portis to cover the awkwardness.  The Bucks as a team shot 10-38 from 3-point range for a paltry 26%... but they still got the win.  If they simply return to shooting theri average with nothing else changed?... Th Bucks will start blowing the Bulls out.
