NBA Standings
Nets: 29-19, 4th place Eastern Conference
Warriors: 36-13, 2nd place Western Conference
A non-conference matchup between blue bloods with legitimate All-star trios. The difference of course is the Warriors trio is backed up by a multitude of stellar role players… and a first time starting all-star (Andrew Wiggins)... while the Warriors are missing SG Joe Harris, one of their stars SF Kevin Durant, and backing the stars with a hodgepodge of older guys and some unknown commodities. The Nets are a good team but their bench is as empty as Kyrie Irving’s head. On the surface this looks like an easy win for the Warriors… but wait it’s a road game for the Nets so they not only have former MVP James Harden but also full-time flat-earther, well rested Kyrie Irving. Those two guys could easily win a game by themselves… and they will have to. This is easily a game of expectations. The Nets are expected to lose against the tougher teams (only the Phoenix Suns are tougher than the Warriors) with Kevin Durant out and the chaos of never knowing if the two remaining stars are on the same page or pouting. The Warriors are expected to win with Stephen Curry having his Splash Brother Klay Thompson back in the lineup and playing well… not to mention that SF Adrew Wiggoins is playing at an All-star level and the bench of Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga can light up any second unit…. So the questions are: 1) Can James Harden and Kyrie ZIrving pull out a win… and 2) If not… How many points can the Warriors cover?
The Brooklyn Nets are dropping like a lead balloon in the standings ever since Kevin Durant went down with an MCL problem. (Don’t be fooled, this is a big problem). They are on a 3-game losing streak and their remaining former MVP PG Jame Harden desperately wants out… desperately wants as far away from PG Kyrie Irving as Philadelphia. ( phone calls and pleading have already happened). The Nets are only winners of 4 of their last ten games… the losing has dropped them from #2 in the East to #4 in the East. They will drop more. Scuffles will happen. Finger pointing is on the way. Kevin Durant will be seen poting while on crutches as he breezes through the hallway beyond the locker rooms… Familiar?. The Nets losing is greatly benefiting the Chicago Bulls, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat… but also everyone in the East. During this losing streak the Nets are only 4-5-1 ATS. So they are quitting at the end of losses as well.
The Golden State Warriors are on a 4-game winning streak. They look good top to bottom. They have won 6 of their last ten games but 3 of those losses were to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Chicago Bulls, and the Memphis Grizzlies… all good teams… and all while the Warriors were missing pieces to injury (they still are, but not as much). The one weird loss was to the Indiana Pacers on January 20th which may actually reveal the secret to beating the Warriors (listen up Phoenix Suns)... The Pacers had at the time PF Domantas Sabonis and C Myles Turner overwhelm the Warriors frontline… both those guys are injured since, but if you can dominate the paint against the Warriors… go for it… You won’t outshoot them.

Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Prediction
Our prediction for Saturday, January 29th is…. Warriors 118 - Nets 104
The Warriors will win this game easily. The problem with the Nets isn;t just that Kyrie isn’t playing home games… it’s what to do with him once they are on the road and Jame Harden doesn’t even really want to play with him at all. Harden came here for Durant. Durant is out. Irving is the headache he inherited. Bet the Warriors. Easy bet, ignore the spread.

Coaches
Nets: Steve Nash. He was a great point guard in the NBA, now he is a rookie coach. He is the same guy who answered the question “Why don’t you just retire?” when he was floundering with the Lakers at the end with “Cause I want the money.”
Warriors: Steve Kerr. He was a five time NBA Champion as a player and then a 3 time NBA Champion as a coach… pretty, pretty, pretty good. He played with Jordan and he coached Curry.
