This will be their 5th conference matchup of the year and they are already in a massive hole with a 0-4 record in their conference games this season. Their 4 losses came against the Kent State Golden Flashes, the Akron Zips, the Northern Illinois Huskies, and against EMU in their last game. They led the end of the first quarter in that game 3-0 but then got dominated from that point on finishing the first half down 24-10 and then coming out of halftime and getting outplayed in the 2nd half losing both the third quarter and the fourth quarter. Matt McDonald really struggled in that game as he completed 20/35 passes for 223 yards and 1 interception. Terion Stewart led the team in rushing with 57 yards and 1 touchdown while Nick Mosley and Jaison Patterson both found the end zone on the ground as well but they really did not have much of a running game at all in that one. Jhaylin Embry led the receivers with 44 yards on 1 reception while Austin Osborne led the team in receptions with 5 for 42 yards. Overall, it was a very quiet day for the receiving corps. Darren Anders led the defense in that game with 6 solo tackles, 7 assisted ones and 1 sack. He had the only sack for the defense in that game and no one was able to come away with an interception either. They have scored 156 points in their 8 games this season averaging 19.5 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 231 points against them allowing 28.9 PPG. Their offense is averaging 316.6 YPG while their defense is allowing 359.8 YPG.

Buffalo Bulls Analysis

Buffalo is coming into this game with a 4-4 record overall and they are 2-2 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. This will be the 5th conference matchup on their schedule this year and they are not in a good position with a 2-2 record in their conference games this season. Their 2 losses came against the Western Michigan Broncos and the Kent State Golden Flashes while their 2 wins came against the Ohio Bobcats and against Akron in their last game. They dominated Akron from start to finish in that game leading at the end of every quarter and now they come into this game riding a 2 game winning streak. Kyle Vantrease played well in their last game as he completed 15/20 passes for 241 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bowling Green vs Buffalo Prediction

Buffalo is coming into this game as a 14 point favorite with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. They have struggled in their conference games this season but they finally had a really good game in their last one with a blowout win over Akron. BGSU have been struggling in every conference game this season but they looked really bad in their last one losing by 30 points at home to EMU. These two teams are trending in the opposite directions right now, Buffalo has been getting better each week and are now on a 2 game winning streak while BGSU just keeps spiraling, now on a 4 game losing streak in the conference this year. The best bet to place in this game is on Buffalo to cover the spread here as they will keep improving and will build on their big win in their last game.

Players to Watch

Bowling Green Falcons: Jaison Patterson is one player to watch in this contest. He leads his team in rushing yards this season and he is coming off of a very bad game where he was quiet. He did not even lead the team in rushing yards in their last game but he still managed to find the end zone. Look for him to have a better performance here as he tries to help his team stop the bleeding and get a very needed win.

Buffalo Bulls: Dylan McDuffie is one player to watch in this one. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a good game where he led the team in rushing with over 100 yards and he scored a TD as well. He also caught a TD pass in that game. He is a big part of this Buffalo offense and can attack both on the ground and through the air in their games. Look for him to be a big factor here in both the running and the passing game.

Notable Quotes

“We were undisciplined in all three phases of the game and that's on me. Our program was moving in the right direction but it sure as hell didn’t do it today.” - Scot Loeffler on the way his team played in their loss to EMU in their last game.

“He said to me, ‘Coach, thank you for believing in me.’ He’s one of those guys, he’s a better player than he was a month and a half and ago because of all the reps, because of them being locked into their job responsibilities, because of preparing the right way, every single week. They’re not the same guys they are three months, two months ago.” - Maurice Linguist on the performance of Kyler Laing in their last game, showing his team’s growth as players as the season goes on.
