Arkansas State vs Michigan Prediction

The current betting odds have Arkansas State listed as a 22.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Arkansas State has looked good in their games this season with their 2-0 record overall which has them off to a great start that they haven't had the last few years. They beat a team from the FCS in week 1 and beat Tulsa last week, but didn't really beat either by more than 1 score. Meanwhile, Michigan is 1-1 this season and they haven't looked great in their games so far. They are in a new era without Harbaugh and it isn't off to a good start with a loss in their 2nd game after going 15-0 last season and winning the National Championship. They beat Fresno State 30-10 but got handled in their own house by Texas, losing 31-12. Michigan showed that they have big problems on offense as they struggled to move the ball, and this is a really large number for them to cover when the offense hasn't really been rolling. Their defense has always been the best part of their team, but even their defense has big holes this season. The pass defense is nowhere near as good as it was last season and teams will be able to move the ball through the air against them. Arkansas State might not have a great day on offense, but they aren't going to get shut out here and that will be enough since this Michigan offense isn't going to be running away with any games this year either. The best way to place a bet here is on Arkansas State to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"I thought we played complementary football and we were a really connected football team. I think it showed. Overall, in the second half, we (outgained) them 181 to 92. Tulsa is a good football team and they are well-coached. When you make mistakes like we did in the first half against a good football team and a well-coached football team, it's going to get you. But we found a way to win." - Butch Jones after his team’s win against Tulsa in their last game.

“I never really thought about the growing pains, more so just what can we do to get better. We knew we were a new team. We never try to rest on our laurels that we won the national championship last year.” - Sherrone Moore after his team’s loss against Texas in their last game.
