Appalachian State vs Clemson Prediction

The current betting odds have Appalachian State listed as a 17 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. App State won their season opener at home against a team from the FCS, but every year this team finds a way to be a threat in the Sun Belt. They are a scrappy program and they certainly bring their best effort for these games against bigger schools. Meanwhile, Clemson lost their season opener to Georgia who looks like one of the best teams in the country once again, but they were also embarrassed in that game with a 34-3 loss. The defense couldn't stop Georgia once they started to wear Clemson down and Clemson's offense didn't do much of anything in that one either. This is now Klubnik's 2nd season as the starting QB, but he didn't look great last season and hasn't looked any better this year. He still has a lot of things to improve, and it doesn't help that this program has been in decline over the last few years with Swinney refusing to utilize the transfer portal. Clemson will be looking to bounce back at home here, but it looks like it is going to be another long season for them and this is a game that App State can keep it close with Klubnik continuing to make mistakes running this offense. Appalachian State is going to put up a good fight in this game and even if they don't pull off an upset win, Clemson won't put up the offense to pull away a ton here. The best way to place a bet here is on Clemson to cover the spread in this game.
