Syracuse vs UNLV Prediction

The current betting odds have UNLV listed as a 6.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. UNLV has looked really good in their games this season with their 4-0 record overall and their 1-0 conference record. There was a lot of drama surrounding this team and their starting QB who decided to redshirt for the season, but they came out strong on Saturday to make a statement. They beat Fresno State 59-14 and picked up right where Sluka left off on offense. Meanwhile, Syracuse has looked good in their games this season with their 3-1 record overall, but they haven't looked as good in their last 2 games. They lost their first conference game of the season at home to Stanford, and now they are coming off a 42-14 win over Holy Cross who is a team from the FCS. Syracuse blew them out in that one, but their defense should have never allowed 14 points to that offense and even Kyle McCord struggled on offense in that game, barely completing 50% of his passes and throwing 2 INTs too. Syracuse has also played all 4 of their games at home this season so this is going to be their first road game of the year and it won't be easy against a good UNLV team that is looking to make a statement after their starting QB quit on them. The best way to place a bet here is on UNLV to cover the spread in this game.

Syracuse UNLV Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Friday, October 4, 2024 (9:00 pm ET start time) is UNLV 38 Syracuse 21.

Notable Quotes

“We want to keep growing on special teams. We want to continue to get better rushing the passer. Continue to get better at protecting our quarterback, and better at running the football. We’re nowhere near where we can be.” - Fran Brown after his team’s win against Holy Cross in their last game.

“I’ll give all the praise and credit to my team. I feel like structurally, the things that we do in fall camp, practice habits throughout the week — we’re different than most people in the country. I would just credit our players on what they did, have done and will continue to do to give us a chance to play winning ball.” - Barry Odom after his team’s win against Fresno State in their last game.
