NC State Wolfpack Analysis

North Carolina State University is coming into this ACC football game with a 6-2 record overall and they are 1-2 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 5th conference matchup of the year and they are in a decent position right now with a 3-1 record in their conference games this season. They have won 5 of their last 6 games coming into this one and are coming off of a win against Louisville in their last game. That was a close game for the entire first half going into halftime tied and it was not until a fourth quarter explosion from NC State where they scored 21 points to take the lead and win the game. Devin Leary had a great game for the quarterbacks in that one as he completed 25/36 passes for 317 yards and 4 touchdowns. Zonovan Knight led the team in rushing with 23 yards on 11 carries but they did not get anything going in their ground game in that one. Emeka Emezie led the receivers with 91 yards and 1 touchdown on 5 receptions while Trent Pennix, Devin Carter, and C.J. Riley all caught the other touchdown passes in that one with 1 each. Drake Thomas led the defense in that game with 7 solo tackles and 8 assisted ones. He also led the defense in sacks in that game with 2 while Shyheim Battle came away with the only interception for them in that one. They have scored 252 points in their 8 games this season averaging 31.5 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 130 points against them allowing 16.3 PPG. Their offense is averaging 417.4 YPG while their defense is allowing 327.9 YPG.

Florida State Seminoles Analysis

Florida State University is coming into Saturday’s football game with a 3-5 record overall and they are 2-3 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. This will be the 6th conference matchup on their upcoming schedule this year and they are not in a good position with a 2-3 record in their conference games this season. They have won 3 of their last 4 games coming into this one and they just had their 3 game winning streak snapped in their last game with a loss against Clemson. The game was close in the first quarter but Clemson started to pull away a bit in the second quarter going into halftime and then they just extended that lead in the second half as FSU went on to lose that game. Quarterback Jordan Travis played alright in that one as he completed 14/22 passes for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jashaun Corbin led the team in rushing with 31 yards on 9 carries and did not have a single rushing touchdown but they did not really get anything going for them on the ground in that game. Lawrence Toafili led the receivers with 68 yards and 1 touchdown on 1 reception while Corbin caught the other TD pass in that one. DJ Lundy led the defense in that game with 8 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Keir Thomas led the defense in sacks in that game with 1.5 while no one on the defense was able to come away with an interception for them. They have scored 239 points in their 8 games this season averaging 29.9 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 215 points against them allowing 26.9 PPG. Their offense is averaging 391.5 YPG while their defense is allowing 387.5 YPG.

NC State vs Florida State Prediction

The North Carolina State Wolfpack are coming into this game as a 3 point favorite with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. NC State struggled a bit for most of the game in their last one but they came up big in clutch time scoring 3 TDs in the final quarter of that game to win by double-digits. NC State has a very good team and a lot of that is thanks to their great defense that is not allowing a lot of points against them at all this season. The Florida State Seminoles football team has started to turn their season around a bit with those 3 straight wins but this is still a team that started the season losing 4 straight and their wins were not really against any convincing opponents. NC State is a much better team and they will keep FSU from scoring a lot of points with that great defense. The best bet to place in this game is on NC State to cover the spread here.
