Kansas City Chiefs Analysis

The Chiefs are coming into this game with a 3-3 record overall and they are 2-1 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. They are coming off of a much needed win against Washington to bring them back to .500 on the season. That was a very close game in the 1st half as they trailed 13-10 at halftime but they made some adjustments and completely dominated in the 2nd half of that game not allowing Washington to score a single point as they won that game 31-13. Patrick Mahomes II had his moments where he struggled but played well for the most part as he completed 32/47 passes for 397 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Darrel Williams led the team in rushing with 62 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries in the absence of Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Travis Kelce led the team in receiving with 99 yards on 8 receptions while Tyreek Hill led the team in receptions with 9 for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. Nick Bolton led the defense with 7 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones while Rashad Fenton was right behind him with 7 solo tackles. No one on the defense recorded a sack in that game while Tershawn Wharton came away with the only interception for them. They have scored 185 points in their first 6 games averaging 30.8 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 176 points against them allowing 29.3 PPG. Their offense is averaging 433.5 YPG while their defense is allowing 410.5 YPG.

Tennessee Titans Analysis

The Titans are coming into this game with a 4-2 record overall and they are 2-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. They are coming into this game on a 2 game winning streak after getting a massive win against the Bills on Monday night football. That game was back and forth all night until eventually a bad play call by Sean McDermott in the last minute gave the ball back to Tennessee with a turnover on downs on a 4th and 1 from the 5 yard line. Ryan Tannehill did not play his best game in that one as he completed 18/29 passes for 216 yards and 1 interception. Derrick Henry had a great day on the ground as he led his team in rushing with 143 yards and 3 touchdowns on 20 carries. A.J. Brown led the team in receiving with 91 yards on 7 receptions while Julio Jones had 59 yards on 3 receptions. David Long led the defense in that game with 9 solo tackles and 5 assisted ones. Harold Landry led the defense in sacks with 2 in that game while Jeffery Simmons had the only other sack. Who else but Kevin Byard came away with the only interception for them in that game as well. They have scored 166 points in their first 6 games averaging 27.7 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 161 points against them allowing 26.8 PPG. Their offense is averaging 384.7 YPG while their defense is allowing 384 YPG.

Chiefs vs Titans Prediction

The Titans are coming into this one as a 5.5 point underdog with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. They just knocked off the Bills in their last game and will have a lot of momentum coming into this one. The Chiefs have not been having a good start to their season and are actually struggling in their games. The blueprint is out on how to stop the Chiefs' offense and the Titans have a very good secondary that will be able to sit back and put that blueprint into action. The Chiefs have not been playing well on defense either and they will not be able to stop Henry in the run game here. The best bet to place in this game is on the Titans to cover the spread as they are starting to look much better while the Chiefs are still figuring things out a bit.

Players to Watch

Kansas City Chiefs: Travis Kelce is one player to watch in this matchup. He is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and he is coming off of a game where he led his team in receiving yards. Tyreek Hill is questionable for this game so they will be looking to Kelce a lot to relieve the stress on Hill and if Hill does not play then all the more reason to give the ball to Kelce as he is one of their biggest playmakers. Look for him to get a lot of looks in this game.

Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry is one player to watch in this contest. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is a beast and he is coming off of a game where he led the team in rushing with almost 150 yards and scored 3 TDs on the ground. He is their biggest playmaker on the offense and the reason they beat the Bills so look for him to get a lot of touches in this game.

"We continue to jump on Derrick's back, and he's willing and able to carry us. And it's just something that you know you have in your back pocket, front pocket. We pull it out and we use it.
