The Atlanta Hawks are not living up to the promise they made in last season’s NBA playoff run.  Though to be fair they are pretty banged up.  Five of their top 8 players are either Out or Questionable.  The injury list is growing and the losses are piling up.  The Most important development happened Saturday when star point guard Trae Young tweaked his knee… add Young to a list that includes Huerter, Hunet, Reddish, and Bogdanovic… and they simply have no one left on the roster who can shoot a 3-pointer. If you subtract the arc in today’s NBA you get a team that has to get everything around the rim… a comical show that should only be for San Antonio fan’s entertainment purposes.

The Timberwolves are actually winning games this season.  They have won 7 of their ten last games in fact!!  Waiting for them to do this has been like watching a glacier melt… for years and years there was no movement and then all of the sudden it is gone.  The win that exemplifies Minnesota’s improvement the most would be when they beat the Philadelphia 76ers on November 27th 121-120 in overtime!!  It’s not so crazy that somebody beat Philly, what is crazy is that Minny was able to handle the pressure of an overtime game and come away with a win… something unthinkable in recent years for the Wolves.  As rebounds go… if the Wolves keep it up they could be a playoff team!

Minnesota is 11-12 on the season and 11-12 ATS.  They have notched 9 Overs and 14 Unders.  They are 7-6 at  home…. SEE!!  They are above .500 on their home court.

The Hawks are 8th in the league in scoring with 109.9 per game, 7th in rebounds with 46.2 per game, and 4th in AST/TO ratio.  These seem like great numbers and they are… until you hit the defensive numbers.  The Hawks are 19th in defending points, 18 in defending FG% and 26th in FT differential (meaning almost everyone wins the free throw battle against them)

The Timberwolves are 14th in points with 107.9 per game, 11th in rebounds with 45.8 per game, and 27th in AST/TO ratio.  Listen, it's not all gonna be sunbeams and daisies, this is still a team that is a game under .500…. Yet we have seen real growth this season.
